Dr Chipiliro Kadzongwe, MMed (Psych), MB BS
Dr Kadzongwe is a general psychiatrist registered with Malawi Medical Council (MCM) and works at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre, Malawi. He is the lead psychiatrist in the Mental Health Unit at QECH, the main referral hospital in the Southern Region of Malawi. His main area of interest is the delivery of community psychiatry services including remote delivery of services via telephone call and videoconferencing.
He qualified from the University f Malawi (UNIMA), College of Medicine (COM) with Master of Medicine in Psychiatry (MMed Psych), general psychiatry and Bachelor of medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS), general medicine.
His other areas in interest include mentoring and teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students at the university of Malawi and management of individuals with addiction disorders, anxiety disorders and depressive disorders.
He currently runs this telepsychiatry service to help those who have limited access to a psychiatrist or a talk therapist and has experience working in resource limited settings.
